Asia
Tsunami Relief
The
killer tsunami that raced across the Indian Ocean and slammed into Southern Asia
left an estimated 155,000 deaths in its wake. Among the greatest hit are Indonesia
and Sri Lanka where entire communities were swept away by 30-foot high waves.
Northwest
Medical Teams currently has six volunteer disaster teams working in Sri Lanka
and Indonesia. Each team is equipped with enough medical supplies to treat up
to 60,000 people.
In
addition to this trauma counselors will be sent to help people who lost loved
ones, homes and possessions and have major medical needs.
