Jesus Christ

So, do you belong to Jesus? We do. The historical facts are really pretty basic about Jesus, if you stop to think about it.

In history it is written...

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
spacer John 3: 16

Basically, God exists in three parts as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

It's sometimes hard to understand that concept, but someone once explained it to me like this. Think of the Sun in our solar system. It is a huge heavenly body of material known as a star. The Sun is also a strong heat source. The Sun is also a strong light source. All three of these properties make up the Sun, each individual in their own right but all still the same.

God the Father loves us all so much that He sent Jesus (God the Son) to give us life to the fullest. Jesus taught us how to live with one another, how to treat each other, and provided us insight about God and what He desires for us. Jesus came to act as a bridge to reconnect us to God, by paying the penalty for our sins with his own death on the cross. He was sacrificed for us, even though Jesus himself lived a life without sin, and those who recognize who He is and what He did for us by receiving Him into their hearts, will spend eternity with God.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
spacerJohn 14:6

That certainly must be the true meaning of love, to be willing to take on the sin of others and pay the price for them with your life, even though you are innocent.

Have you heard Jesus called the "sacrificial lamb" before? This is because His blood was shed as a sacrifice for all men, women, and children of all the nations of the world, so that each of us could be separated from our sin and live reunited with God forever. He was crucified on the cross and three days later was raised from the dead!

If Jesus would have sinned in his life, then his death couldn't have been a sacrifice at all and he wouldn't have been the Messiah, or Savior, but because he lived a sinless life, his death was the payment needed to offset the penalty of sin.

So why won't God just let us live with Him as sinners? The Bible says it's because God is a just, fair and loving God.

I guess that makes sense. I mean, would it make sense for us to let those who break the laws in society have the same rights as everybody else and be left alone to run free? Even we as a community understand how important it is for our laws to be just and fair, and if you don't abide by the laws, you have to pay the penalty for your actions.

The first few times I heard that Jesus lived without sin, I wondered just how that could be. After all, He was a man tempted by all the things men have to face in this world. Have you ever wondered that?

While it's true He had to face temptation, one main difference is that Jesus was conceived in the virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit, not by man. Jesus (God the Son) was born on Earth as man. You and me on the other hand, are conceived by our human fathers who were sinners before us and their father's before them. It goes all the way back to the beginning of mankind with Adam.

God and Man together!

In the beginning, God created Adam and he and God were connected. God graciously gave Adam a free will to make his own choices in life.

Unfortunately, Adam and Eve chose to go against God's will and sinned, thus separating themselves from God and setting the tone for all generations to come.

So why the heck would God allow us to make our own choices and choose our actions in life, even if they are sinful? It's because He truly loves us and wants us to truly love Him too.

Think about it, if you have children, a spouse, brother, sister, or even a friend and you force them to love you, do they really love you? On the other hand, if you let them choose freely how they feel about you and their actions show you that they choose to love you, then it is likely that they really do love you. One is a truthful, honest love and the other is a false, pretended love.

God truly does love us and wants us to love Him too by developing a personal and trusting relationship with Him.

Now if you're like me, you've probably wondered about what happens to us after we die. Heck, doesn't everybody think about that from time to time? If not, you might want to give it some consideration. Some feel it is just too scary to think about, but it really doesn't have to be if you've taken the right steps to get aligned with God.

But have you ever wondered why we even think about life after death in the first place?

I believe it's because God wired us to think that way and know that there is life after death. In His master plan, our soul will continue on after our physical body dies on Earth. Thus, our lives here on Earth are only the practice ground for what's to come.

Now, this is where it gets important. If we are all going to live after we die anyway, why should we be concerned with our sin and worry about developing a relationship with God? It's because if you don't choose to serve God, then by default you have chosen to serve Satan.

You may be thinking now, "hey, I didn't choose to serve anybody", or "but what if I don't even believe in Satan?" Well unfortunately we don't get to make up the rules in God's plan. Since He is the one who created us, it's His plan and His rules. However, it's important to realize that even if you don't believe in Satan, he believes in you!

In fact he's counting on your ignorance and pride to keep you away from God. Even today he may be filling your mind with false promises of eternal life without the need for God, or that you don't deserve to be with God, or that this is all just a made up story and you have no need to research it on your own to find out the truth. He has so many lies it's hard to keep up with them all but one thing is for certain, if you don't turn away from Satan and towards God, the Devil will keep and rule your soul forever.

Have you ever spoken with people who claim they have no reason for God in their lives. Some figure life is going pretty good and there isn't a reason for God, just yet. Or maybe they'll reach out to God when something much worse goes wrong. Some claim they just haven't thought about it or have decided to ignore what scholars around the world have acknowledged as being the greatest truth of all. These are often the same people who claim they truly love their families, children, wives, and husbands and would do anything for them. Anything, that is, except save them from eternal separation from God. Is this really true love, or just more lies and confusion from Satan?

If you don't know anything about Satan, here's a quick overview. Long story short, he was once an angel. In fact, he was the highest ranked angel of God. His name is Lucifer, which means "son of the morning star". He fell short of God's grace with his ambition and pride wanting to ascend into heaven and become equal with God, having others worship him. This decision was sinful because Lucifer did not want to subject himself to God. Instead, he wanted to be equal to God his Creator.

Adam and Eve were influenced by Satan and also chose to sin against God, setting the tone for all mankind afterward, to be ruled on the Earth by Satan whether we are aware of it or not. Thus, you and I fall into the same trap, but luckily for us God has provided a way out by sending Jesus. By seeking Jesus, we can be saved from the penalty of sin and connected back to God.

So what exactly do we have to do to be reconnected back to God?

Very simply put, we can't earn our way back into God's grace through...

  • Good works
  • Because we're a nice person
  • We're helpful in our community
  • We're a law abiding citizen
  • We attend church regularly
  • We attend church on special holidays like Christmas and Easter
  • We take communion
  • We exercise regularly and are in good health
  • We don't make waves and accept all people, religions, beliefs, etc...
  • We are a giving person
  • We pray regularly for ourselves and others too
  • By ignoring history and just hoping for the best

...or by any other reason we can think of.

The only way we can get reconnected to God God is by faith through Jesus Christ.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– not by works, so that no one can boast.
    spacerEphesians 2:8-9

This is the most wonderful gift in the world and it can be yours today for FREE.

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him.
    spacerJohn 3:36

None of us on Earth are any better than anyone else and we all must come into God's grace by doing the very same thing.

How do you do it?

Simply by...

  • Recognizing and admitting we are a sinner to God
  • Being willing to turn away from our sin and repent
  • Believing that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again from the dead
  • Saying a prayer to ask Jesus Christ to come into our lives to become our personal savior

Then, and only then, will we be cleansed before God and be allowed to live in His presence forever.

This is really a good thing, my friends, because it is free, it's easy and it is FOREVER! No one can ever take it away from you and you will be accepted into God's Kingdom and family. After Jesus was raised from the dead, he spent a short time on Earth then ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father. It's through our faith and trust in Jesus, that we will inherit all that God has planned for us in Eternity.

If you have never taken the step to bring Jesus into your life, won't you join us today? I'll help you through it if you'd like with a prayer below, or you can pray to God in your own words from your heart to His.

Father God,
Creator of Heaven and Earth and all living things
I come to you in the name of Jesus.

Lord I know that I'm a sinner and that without you I am lost.
Please forgive me for my sins and for those I've committed against others,
and help me to forgive those that have sinned against me.

I believe that you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, to die on
the cross for me and pay the penalty for my sins with His blood,
and that He rose again 3 days later.

Lead me Lord Jesus and come into my life to transform me
so that I may bring glory and honor to your name.

I openly confess Jesus Christ as the Lord of my soul and
I accept Him as my own personal Savior.

Thank you for dying for me Jesus and giving me eternal life.

Amen

If you said this prayer my friend and it was from your heart, let me WELCOME you to the family of God! If you were honest, God heard you and you are saved at this very moment. Your inheritance is the Kingdom of Heaven and eternal life with God forever!

That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
spacerRomans 10:9

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
spacerRomans 10:13

If you are wondering how to know if something happened, God will reveal it to you if He hasn't already. This is not a prayer you have to repeat over and over, only once if it came from your heart.
